Doppelherz® Kinder Iron drops is a liquid form of highly-bioavailable iron salts.
Each ml of solution contains 14 mg of elemental iron:
- 7 mg elemental iron provided by 70 mg iron (II) gluconate.
- 7 mg elemental iron coming from 36 mg iron (II) heptahydrate.
These iron salts are specifically recommended by the WHO, due to their good bioavailability and tolerability. are spe9fically recommended by the WHO, due to their good bioavailability and tolerability. Doppelherz® Kinder Iron drops have a sweet blueberry taste in order to improve intake adherence.
Measure the desired amount of liquid with the pipette, dispense on a spoon and take in. Alternatively, the desired amount might be added in a glass of fruit juice to improve compliance. For safety and hygienic reasons, do not insert the pipette into the mouth.
Dosage:
One ml of solution contains 14 mg of elemental iron.
Under 4 years: consult a doctor
4-6 years: 0.5 ml per day
7-12 years: 0.75 ml per day
Above 12 years: 1 ml per day
Doctors may prescribe other dosage if needed.
Dosage according to German nutritional guideline to support normal dietary iron supply in healthy, non-anaemic children following an average German diet:
4-12 year: 0.25 ml per day (3.5 mg Fe)
Above 12 years: 0.5 ml per day (7 mg Fe)
